Staff and Computerisation of the Workplace
Many firms look to computers to gain efficiency. And many implement computers without discussing the changes with staff. There is much research that suggests that whilst technology can be implemented without consultation, getting staff buy-in avoids rejection of the computer systems and gives huge benefits as staff contribute at the specification, implementation and acceptance testing phases. So how can firms involve staff and hence get the best out of computers? How should managers involve staff and computerisation of the workplace.
